Dutch people spent €1.9 billion on fast food last year

Dutch people spend an annual 1.9 billion euros on the largest fast food chains in the country. Dutch people spend an average of 23 euros per visit, and most of this money is spent at sushi establishments, the Nationale Benchmark Fastfoodketens, a large-scale research project conducted by market researcher Multiscope, reported. Just under 7,200 Dutch citizens took part in the study.

The highest amount of money spent per visit was at the restaurants of SushiPoint (50 euros), followed by Mr. Sushi (49 euros). Spare Rib Express came third with an average expenditure per customer of 39 euros, followed by New York Pizza with 27 euros and Domino’s Pizza with 24 euros.

Smullers (seven euros), The Döner Company (11 euros), and FEBO (12 euros) were the cheapest places to eat among fast food chains.

The average expenditure per visit was highest among 35 to 49-year-olds (26 euros). Customers between 18 and 34 years of age spend an average of 22 euros per visit, while people over 50 spend the least money on average. They spent an average of 20 euros per visit to a fast food chain.
