A few more sunny days before rain, cooler weather returns from Wednesday
Sun-loving Netherlands residents should do their best to get the maximum enjoyment out of the weather today and tomorrow. From Wednesday, the weather will turn changeable, with scattered showers and “considerably” lower maximums for a while, Weeronline expects.
Monday will see lots of sun, with only a few cumulus clouds. No rain is expected. Afternoon temperatures will climb to around 17 degrees in the Wadden Area and 23 degrees in the warmest places inland. The northerly wind will be weak to moderate.
“With minimum temperatures between 7 and 10 degrees, the coming night will not be too chilly for the second half of May,” Weeronline said. There will be little wind and a chance of fog, especially in the north.
The fog banks will quickly dissolve on Tuesday, which will see abundant sunshine except for a few high clouds in the afternoon and evening. “Once again, the wind will be weak to moderate from the north and the mercury will be between 17 and 23 degrees,” Weeronline said. “In that respect, there will be little change.”
On Tuesday evening, the north to northwest wind will gradually increase in strength, bringing less warm air into the country. “Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday will be considerably cooler in large parts of the country,” Weeronline said. Only the south could still hit 20 degrees. Elsewhere, maximums will range between 12 and 17 degrees, from north to south. “Especially on Thursday during the day, it will feel downright chilly under the influence of a moderate to fairly strong northwesterly wind.”
There will still be some sunny spells, but also quite a lot of cloud fields and scattered showers, especially on Thursday and Friday. “From the weekend, the chance of showers will probably slowly increase.” Saturday and Sunday may even see a thunderstorm. Temperatures should start climbing toward 20 again over the weekend.
