Warm, sun-filled days ahead for Netherlands this week; Temps could top 18°C on Thursday
The Netherlands is in for wonderful spring weather this week. The days will be dry and sunny, and maximums will rise daily. By Thursday, thermometers could reach 18 degrees in the south of the country. The nights will still be icy cold until at least Wednesday, and the chance of rain will increase again from the weekend, according to Weeronline’s forecast.
On Monday morning, a few cloud fields will move across the country from north to south, but the sun will soon dominate the weather picture nationwide. Maximums will climb to between 8 degrees in the northeast and 11 degrees locally in the south, with a moderate easterly wind.
Tonight will be dry everywhere. Temperatures will drop quickly after sunset, and minimums will drop to below freezing in almost the entire country.
Tuesday will see bright blue skies, with a weak to moderate wind from the east. Maximums will climb to between 10 and 12 degrees, north to south. On Wednesday, the wind will turn to the southeast, bringing considerably milder air into the country. The day will be dry and sunny, with maximums between 13 and 16 degrees. “That is a lot milder than the 10 degrees that is usual for this time of year,” Weeronline said.
Thursday will be even warmer. “With the exception of the far northwest and Wadden Islands, 15 degrees will be reached everywhere. In Limburg, it could be over 18 degrees,” the weather service said. There will be slightly more clouds than in the preceding days, but the sun will still shine abundantly.
Friday will also be very mild, quite sunny, and dry. From the weekend onward, the wind will come more from the southwest, likely bringing showers with it. “As a result, we will most likely experience a transition to more changeable weather. Temperatures will also drop slightly each day from Saturday onwards, but it will remain mild for the time of year,” Weeronline said.
