Dense fog triggers code yellow warning across northern Netherlands
A significant portion of the Netherlands is under a code yellow weather alert due to dense fog, the KNMI announced Friday. The warning applies to the northern regions of the country, where visibility may drop below 200 meters.
However, "It will likely dissipate everywhere by the second half of Saturday morning," according to the KNMI.
The KNMI has advised residents and travelers to exercise caution, as the fog could cause traffic disruptions and create hazardous conditions for drivers.
"The persistent fog is particularly stubborn," the KNMI stated, noting that while foggy conditions are affecting many areas of the country, warnings are currently limited to the north.
Motorists in affected regions are urged to adjust their driving behavior and remain vigilant, as reduced visibility may pose risks on highways and local roads.
