Video: Fire breaks out at TikTok star's performance in Amsterdam; Venue evacuated
A fire broke out during a performance by TikTok celebrity Lisanne Dijkstra in the Tolhuistuin on the IJpromenade in Amsterdam Noord on Sunday. Around 600 attendees were evacuated and Dijkstra’s second performance on Sunday evening had to be canceled.
The fire broke out at around 2:55 p.m., an attendee who was inside with her daughter told AT5. “There were also flames visible at the fire. Everyone thought for a moment that it was part of the show. When they could smell fire, everyone calmly went outside.”
Attendees reported a lot of smoke and a strong smell of burning. The fire alarm also went off.
Several fire engines responded to the scene. Firefighters extinguished the blaze and ventilated the building. Dijkstra handed out autographs outside to the children while the emergency services worked.
People could go back inside at around 4:00 p.m., but the show could not continue. The evening performance by Dijkstra also had to be canceled.
Dijkstra’s management announced that both shows would be rescheduled and more information would be released soon.
