18-year-old injured in explosion in Montfoort, suspects on the run

An 18-year-old boy was slightly injured in an explosion at the window of his living room in Montfoort, Utrecht, on Friday evening. According to the police, the victim was sitting in his apartment in the G. van Damstraat when an unknown person held something against the window and set it on fire. A short time later, there was a loud bang and the window shattered. According to the police, the 18-year-old was hit by shards of glass.

The police have not yet arrested anyone for the explosion, which occurred at around 9 p.m. The victim saw “several people” running away quickly after the explosion, but there is still no trace of them, police reports.
