Five minors arrested after a gun was seen on a train in Schiphol
Five of the six suspects who were arrested on a train in Schiphol on Thursday afternoon are minors. The marechaussee arrested the suspects because they received a report of a gun on the train. The weapon was not found, a spokesperson said.
The suspect's ages range from 15 to 24 years old. All six are still currently detained, the spokesperson reported. He could not say whether they would be released soon. “That depends on the investigation.”
According to the spokesperson, there was physical violence during the arrest, and punches were thrown. The firearm was not found, but the investigation is looking into whether any clues indicate the presence of a firearm.
The spokesperson said that no injuries were sustained during the incident. The train was stopped because of the incident, and this led to a temporary delay for trains that needed to pass Schiphol.
