Explosions and large fire at hair salon and snack bar in Hoofddorp, no injuries

Two explosions occurred in Hoofddorp on Saturday evening. A hair salon and a snack bar were damaged. The police are investigating a possible connection between the two explosions.

The first explosion occurred late on Saturday evening in a hairdressing salon in the Concourslaan, which caused a fire shortly afterwards. According to the fire department, the fire was brought under control again shortly before midnight, NOS reports.

According to a spokesperson for the safety region, there were no injuries during the explosion or the fire. However, the building was badly damaged, as the explosion followed by the fire destroyed the facade of the building. The surrounding buildings were also damaged by the smoke, according to NOS.

The second explosion occurred at around 2:00 a.m. on Saturday in a snack bar in the Noordmeerstraat. Again, there were no injuries, the police said. Overall, the snack bar suffered less damage than the hair salon as there was no fire, only smoke, according to the police.

This investigation has already shown that the building on Noordmeerstraat was previously owned by a family member of the owner of the barbershop. Both the owner of the barbershop and the current owner of the snack bar have filed a report.
