Months of maintenance on the A10 near Amsterdam, traffic disruptions expected
From Saturday, July 20, to Monday, September 9, Rijkswaterstaat will carry out extensive maintenance work on the A10 North near Amsterdam. This will cause inconvenience for road users, as the additional travel time at peak times can be half an hour to an hour.
The Zeeburger bridges on the A10 North between the Watergraafsmeer junction and the Durgerdam exit will be tackled. Joints and asphalt will be replaced, and work will also be carried out on the Zeeburger tunnel.
The work will take place in two phases. From July 20 to August 14, the section in the direction of Amsterdam-Noord (outer ring) will be closed, and from August 15 to September 9, the section in the direction of Amsterdam-Oost (inner ring) will be closed. During the latter period, the connecting road from the A8 to the A10 North will also be closed to prevent too much traffic in the Amsterdam-Noord area.
Rijkswaterstaat advises drivers to prepare well before they hit the road, plan their journey well in advance, and keep an eye on traffic information. In addition, road users should avoid driving at peak times and, if possible, work from home or use alternative means of transport.
