Red Cross opens helpline for people in home quarantine

The Red Cross launched a helpline for people in the Netherlands quarantined at home over the coronavirus. The helpline is manned by medical professionals and meant for people with questions about their health, or who want to talk, RTL Nieuws and NU.nl report.

"We offer a listening ear, give advice and together we look at whether people can solve practical problems within their own social network. If that is not possible, we will see whether we can contribute with our trained volunteers or our Red Cross Ready2Help citizens network, or perhaps should refer to other aid agencies," the aid organization said.

Citizens who want to help others can join the Ready2Help network by contacting the organization.

The Red Cross helpline is available from 9:00 a.m. at the number 070-44-55-888

The number of Covid-19 infections spiked to 1,135 on Sunday, including 20 people who died. The government announced the closure of all schools, cafes, and non-essential businesses until at least April 6th. Prime Minister Mark Rutte will address the nation at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
