Dog that tracked ISIS leader Al-Baghdadi trained in the Netherlands

The military dog that helped track down ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi in Syria on Saturday, was trained in the Netherlands. "I recognized him immediately", Marco van Hoof, director of Hondenadvies Centrum Nederland, said to Editie NL.

"I thought: I know him, that dog was here", Van Hoof said. The Belgian Shepherd trained at his location in Best, before being transported to America via Amsterdam. "With this as a result", Van Hoof said. "It is a male of five years old. He is a very good dog."

Van Hoof is not surprised at all that this dog is now being used in Syria by the American armed forces. "No, we train dogs to achieve these kinds of results."

The dog sustained minor injuries when Al-Baghdadi detonated his suicide bomb, but has since recovered and is back at work, according to the broadcaster.

The military dog became famous when American president Donald Trump posted a photo of him on Twitter.
