Explosives thrown into homes in Best, Eindhoven

The police are investigating two large explosions in homes in Eindhoven and Best early on Saturday morning. In both cases explosives were thrown into the homes. No one was injured, but a large amount of damage was caused, ANP reports.

The first explosion happened at a flat on Kijkduinstraat in Best. According to the police, it seems that someone threw an explosive onto the apartment's balcony as the residents slept inside. The residents were unharmed, but the flat was badly damaged. All the windows were broken and pieces of rubble from the balcony landed on the ground meters away.

A few hours later, at around 6:00 a.m., an explosive was thrown through the front door of a home on Keldermansstraat in Eindhoven. Here too the residents were unhurt, but their home was badly damaged.

The police are investigating whether these two incidents are connected.
