The 11th edition of Rescue Vlissingen - the largest rescue services event in the Netherlands - attracted a record number of over 100 thousand visitors on Wednesday. The municipality of Vlissingen eventually called on people to stop coming to the city by car, because there was nowhere left to park, NU.nl reports.

The event included dozens of booths with aid workers and multiple rescue demonstrations. There was also a demonstration with a Chinook CH-47 helicopter from the Royal Dutch Air Force, in which was shown how the helicopter is used to help fight fires with a so-called 'bambi bucket'.

Two years ago the biennial event attracted 80 thousand visitors.
