Woman, 47, assaulted in Amsterdam park; police seek witnesses
A 47-year-old woman was assaulted in Westerpark, near Westergasterrein, at around 10:45 p.m. on July 4th. The police are looking for witnesses.
The woman was sitting on a park bench at around 10:30 p.m. when she noticed a man acting strangely. He walked close by her multiple times, apparently looking for something. He walked away and returned several times. The victim decided to go home, not trusting the situation.
Shortly after she got op from the bench, she noticed that someone was following her. This continued for several minutes until the person behind her suddenly sped up. A moment later, the woman was lying on the ground. The police think her feet were kicked out from under her. She was beaten in the face multiple times, sustaining serious injuries.

He is between 1.75 and 1.8 meters tall, has a normal posture and was wearing a white t-shirt with a black print, black trousers and sneakers.
The police are investigating and call on anyone who saw or heard something in the park between 10:30 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 4th, to come forward.
