Man dies after resuscitation at Amsterdam festival

A 59-year-old man from Amstelveen died after he was resuscitated at festival 909 in Amsterdam on Saturday night. The police are investigating his cause of death, Het Parool reports.

The man collapsed at the techno festival on Nieuwe Meerlaan around 10:00 p.m. on Saturday. He was resuscitated and rushed to hospital, where he died a short time later, a spokesperson for the police said to the newspaper on Monday.

The cause of the man's death is still under investigation. The police believe that drug use may have played a role, the spokesperson said to Het Parool.

The festival organization said that it "deeply regretted" this news and wishes the man's family and friends a lot of strength in this difficult time.
