Elderly man, 80, pushed off bicycle; police looking for mountain biker

The police are looking for a mountain bike rider who pushed an 80-year-old cyclist off his bicycle in Egmond aan den Hoef on Saturday. The elderly man sustained a broken nose, broken fingers, a bruised hand and various abrasions, NH Nieuws reports.

According to the victim's son Erwin Palsma, his father addressed the mountain biker for cutting him off on Hemweg. The mountain biker got angry, and pushed the elderly man off his bicycle before cycling away towards Bergen.

"He fell off his bike and broke his nose. His face and hands are completely battered", Erwin said to NH Nieuws. An ambulance took the elderly man to hospital for treatment. He is doing well under the circumstances, his son said.

The police are looking for a white man between the ages of 25 and 30 years. He has dark, short-cut hair and was dressed in dark trousers, a dark shirt and cycled on a dark colored mountain bike.
