Trailer released for movie based on Thalys train attack
Warner Bros. Pictures released the first trailer for its movie The 15:17 to Paris, which is based on a foiled attack on a Thalys train between Amsterdam and Paris in 2015.
Ayoub el-Khazzani boarded the train, heavily armed, at Brussels South station on August 21st, 2015 and hid in the toilet. Just after the train crossed the French border, he came out of the toilet waving his weapons. He was immediately overpowered by other passengers and handed over tho the French police.
Four passengers that prevented a massacre that day were Americans Anthony Sadler, Spencer Stone and Alek Skarlatos and Briton Chris Norman. They were later awarded the Legion d'Honneur medal -France's highest honor. They were helped by a banker who wished to remain anonymous, and French-American Mark Moogalian.
The 15:17 to Paris is based on a book Sadler, Stone and Skarlatos wrote with Jeffrey E. Stern about the foiled attack. The movie was directed by Clint Eastwood and stars the three American men playing themselves. It's releasing in cinemas early next year.
