U.S. company considers Netherlands for first European Hyperloop route

American company Hyperloop One plans to have the first Hyperloop connections up and running by 2021. The company is considering dozens of routes fr the high-speed transport system worldwide, including in the Netherlands, Het Parool reports.

On Tuesday the company presented nine possible European routes in Amsterdam. The routes were devised by the semi-finalists of a route competition the company had. The Netherlands route includes Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Eindhoven, Den Bosch, Arnhem and Lelystad.

A jury will select the finalists from the 9 European routes and 25 other entries from the rest of the world this summer.

Hyperloop One plans to start construction at one or two of the selected routes by 2019 at the latest, according to Het Parool.

Dutch Hyperloop company HARDT opened its first test facility in Delft last week.
