Man killed in workplace accident with forklift

A 47-year-old man from Bergen op Zoom was killed in a workplace accident with a forklift in Steenbergen on Wednesday evening. The accident happened on the Unipak industrial rea on Franseweg, Omroep Brabant reports.

The victim's colleagues called emergency services around 8:30 p.m. Emergency workers tried to resuscitate the man, but it was to no avail. He died at the scene.

Colleagues who witnessed the accident were offered victim aid. A family police officer is supporting the victim's relatives.

Exactly what happened was not revealed. The Inspectorate for Social Affairs and Employment is investigating.
