Father kidnaps three kids from Enschede; believed to be in Germany
Three young children disappeared from Enschede on Friday afternoon. The police believe their Syrian father kidnapped them and that they are currently in Germany.
The kids are Hassan Jasem (5), brother Nazih (4) and their sister Alma (2). All three of them have black hair and brown eyes. Hassan was wearing a blue and white check shirt with blue jeans when he disappeared. Nazih was wearing a white T-shirt with gray sleeves and a Disney Frozen logo, jeans and blue shoes. Alma was wearing a shirt with a picture of a rabbit on it, gray pants and a gray jacket.
Their father is a 35-year-old Syrian man who is between 1.7 and 1.8 meters tall. He has short, curly dark hair and was wearing blue jeans when he was last seen with the kids.
The children's mother is in shock, Twente police spokesperson Frank Brouwer said to Tubantia. According to him, the man took the children when he was alone with them for a moment in their home on Veenstraat in Enschede. "This is really terrible. It is a shock for everyone who knows the family. We are doing everything in our power to get the children back. The police in Germany and other countries have also been notified."
The mother of the children reported them missing around 4:30 p.m. on Friday. According to the police, there are indications that the man took the children to Germany. "Germany is a likely option, if only because Enschede is so close to the border", Brouwer said to the newspaper.
