Reward offered for stolen Old English Bulldog puppies
Four chocolate-colored Old English Bulldog puppies were stolen from care farm De Mekkerbek in Baarle-Nassau sometime between Wednesday night and Thursday morning. The pups are only six weeks old and therefore too young to be away from their mother, or to be chipped. Rachel van Beek of De Mekkerbek is offering a 1,500 euros reward for the tip that leads to the puppies recovery.
"The puppies are only a few weeks old, and drink from their mom a number of times a day", Rachel said to Omroep Brabant. According to her, a chocolate colored Old English Bulldog can be sold for up to 3 thousand euros. "They deliberately left two darker puppies in the kennel because they sell for less."
The about 20 kids who come to the care farm on a daily basis are very upset by the theft, as is the people who work there. They're keeping an eye on sites like Marktplaats in the hope that the thieves will advertise the puppies. "But so stupid they'll probably not be", Rachel said.
