Friday will be last day to skate on natural ice: Dutch meteorologist
Those who still want to spend some time skating on natural ice in the Netherlands better make a plan to do so in the coming days. According to meteorologist Williams Huizinga of Buienraar, skating weather will come to an end around the end of the week, RTL Nieuws reports.
The coming nights will still drop below freezing, but from Friday temperatures will be noticeably milder, Huizinga said to the broadcaster. "Even today many places are above zero, but not so much that there is heavy thawing." he said. "The disadvantage is that the air is much more humid than in recent days. That will cause degradation of the ice."
Skating will still be possible in many places in the coming days, but probably not any more after Friday. Not all natural ice is safe to skate on. Check Weerplaza's skating map for safe spots.
