Three Dutch seriously injured in Morocco stabbing
Three Dutch tourists were seriously injured in a stabbing in the Moroccan city of Casablanca on Wednesday morning. The two women and one an were walking near the Hassan II when a mentally disturbed man stabbed them, AD reports.
The victims are a 57-year-old woman from Vught, her 30-year-old son and 27-year-old daughter. They were on holiday together in Morocco. The Hassan II is a popular tourist attraction. It is one of the largest mosques in the world.
According to a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the man attacked them out of nowhere. Police officers quickly overpowered the 28-year-old attacker, preventing further victims. One officer was injured in his leg.
The police describe the perpetrator as "confused and hysterical", according to the newspaper. So far nothing is known about his motive.
