Rabobank wants list of designated aid agencies for payments to Syria, Russia

Rabobank wants the Dutch government to compile a list of designated aid organizations that are allowed to make payments to Syria and Russia. Currently the bank blocks many transactions to comply with international rules around sanctions against certain countries, NOS reports The bank is discussing the matter with the government, a spokesperson said to the broadcaster, stressing that the payments are blocked not because of one of the bank's own measures, but international rules. Christian relief organization Ishmael and Christian foundation Friedensstie are among those who cant make donations to Syria or Russia. Rabobank blocks the transactions, because they can't be traced and checked in the two countries. Which means that badly needed aid can't reach the countries. The SGP and SP posed parliamentary questions about the matter.
