Report: More and more Dutch do extra work at home

About 40 percent of Dutch workers sometimes work at home, according to a report by the Social and Cultural Planning Office. 20 percent work at home at least once a week, compared to 15 percent a decade ago, NU.nl reports. The Dutch who take their work home with them spend an average of 8 hours a week working from home, that is a complete working day. The SCP attributes the increase to the hours needed for workers to complete their work. A third of people who work from home do so to finish work they didn't get to at the office or work place. 22 percent indicated that they work from home due to concentration and efficiency. Not having to travel and combining work with their care responsibilities are also mentioned as reasons to work from home, 11 and 8 percent respectively.
