KPN and Samsung reach settlement in patent conflict

Dutch telecom company KPN and South Korean smartphone manufacturer Samsung reached a settlement in a patent dispute dating from 2014, according to court document released on Tuesday. The financial details of the settlement were not revealed, ANP reports. End 2014 KPN sued Samsung over the unauthorized use of patented technology. According to the Dutch company, Samsung used technology for data transfer in its smartphones that KPN had the patent on. KPN confirmed the settlement, but would give no further information. Samsung was not available for comment.
