D66 city councilman stabbed on street, recovering in hospital

D66 city councilor Marian Segers was stabbed in Zuidoostbeemster, Noord-Holland on Thursday. She was rushed to the hospital after being treated at the scene by first responders. According to the police, her condition is not life-threatening. The stabbing occurred in a house on Zuiderpad, according to RTL Nieuws. Neighbors confirmed 60-year-old Segers' identity to RTV Noord Holland. According to the neighbors, Segers walked down the street, covered in blood and calling for help. The motive behind the stabbing is still unknown. The police searched for the perpetrator, also deploying a helicopter to help and spreading a description through Burgernet, but so far no arrests were made. A gray Chevrolet Aveo that the police searched for was found.
