Travel around Utrecht, NS warns Ajax fans hoping for championship celebrations

Should Ajax win the Eredivisie on Sunday, fans should avoid trains going through Utrecht on their way to the celebrations at the Amsterdam ArenA, NS warns. Construction work around Utrecht Centraal could cause delays and make fans late to the party, RTV Utrecht reports. The construction work means that only a limited amount of train traffic can pass through the station, disrupting services for travelers coming from the center or south of the country. And NS does not want to be responsible for Ajax fans missing the celebrations should the Amsterdam team become the national championship for the 34th time. Ajax walks away with the title if De Graafschap loses in Doetinchem and PSV does not manage to beat PEC Zwolle with more than six goals, according to the broadcaster. Amsterdam already has a party planned should Ajax be declared Eredivisie champions.
