New Camp Nou will feature tribute to Dutch footballer Johan Cruijff

Barcelona will dedicate a space to Dutch football legend Johan Cruijff in the renewed Camp Nou, Barcelona president Josep Maria Bertomeu announced along with plans for a colossal renovation to the stadium, Voetbal International reports. The renovations to the stadium is the main component of the project "Espai Barca", which will cost about 600 million euros. Work will start in 2017 and and is expected to be done by 2021. Once the work will be finished, the stadium will have 105,000 seats. In the futuristic project is designed by the Japanese Nikken Sekkei and the Spanish Joan Pascual. The renovated stadium will feature a commemoration space dedicated to Johan Cruijff, though the executives of the team didn't want to reveal too much: “It will be presented in the next days. It deserves it, without him we wouldn't be what we are”, they explained. Barcelona will continue to play in the stadium while the work is in progress.
