Contributions sought for Dutch girl’s birthday after traumatic fire

Residents of Best are pulling together and donating clothes, toys and other things to help a mother and two girls who lost everything they owned in a fire on Prins Bernhardlaan last weekend. Friends and neighbors are also working on having a birthday party for one of the girls on Saturday. The father of the family was arrested on suspicion of arson and attempted manslaughter - he lit the house on fire while his two daughter, sage 15 and 8 years, were still in the house. A neighbor managed to rescue them in time to save their lives, but their pets and all their belongings went up with their home. To help the mother and girls get back on their feet, various actions were started on social media, Omroep Brabant reports. All donations are welcome - money, clothes toys. And also decorations, chips and crackers for the upcoming birthday party, when the younger girl turns 9 years old. "Even if you only give one thing. It doesn't matter what you give", initiator Wilma Visser said to the broadcaster. According to Visser, donations are pouring in. Someone even donated 150 euros, which will be handed to the mother personally on Saturday. Those who want to donate can do so at the foundation "Mama's met een warm hart".
