Brawl leads to ban on two amateur football clubs

Amateur clubs Sparta'18 and Oranje Zwart are suspended from playing until further notice after a massive brawl following heir match on Sunday. Dutch football association KNVB's disciplinary committee decided that the clubs from Sevenum and Helmond will not play while the investigation is ongoing, 1Limburg reports. The brawl started shortly after the match between the two amateur clubs on Sunday. Several involved people filed assault charges with the police. The KNVB's disciplinary committee will hold a hearing about the brawl next week. All games for this season for both clubs have been postponed. They will be rescheduled once the KNVB is done with the investigation. Sparta'18 was scheduled to play against Rood-Wit'62 in Helmond on Sunday. Oranje Zwart was scheduled to play a home game against SV Panningen. Both clubs requested that the matches be postponed. The KNVB stated that their decision is unrelated to the request.
