Actor Maarten Heijmans takes Emmy for Ramses role

Dutch actor Maarten Heijmans was awarded the International Emmy Award for best actor in New York. He won the prestigious award for his role as Ramses Shaffy in the Avrotos miniseries Ramses, which aired in 2014. Heijmans was stunned that he won and called the moment his name was called "unreal", RTL Nieuws reports. "It's insane, I really did not expect it", the Dutch actor said. In the category best actor, Heijmans was up against the Turkish Engin Akyurek, the British Rafe Spall and the Brazillian Emilio de Mello.
