Amsterdam man’s murder possible mistaken identity

Acquaintances of murdered Turkish nationalist Haydar Zengin believe that he may have been killed by mistake. Zengin was shot and killed in an office building on Derkinderstraat in Amsterdam last month. He bore a striking physical resemblance to the man who was wounded in a shooting in the same building earlier this week, Het Parool reports. The police have not made any statements about this matter, only saying that they are investigating a possible link between the two incidents. The man who was wounded in the shooting is 49 year old Turkish-born Z.E., several sources told Het Parool. He is one of the directors of the construction company based in the office building. He is recovering from his injuries in hospital. Zengin worked as an accountant for the construction company. He was working in the office building when he was shot and killed on October 15th. He had no criminal record.
