Man held in August casino armed robbery

A 47 year old man from Groningen was arrested on Wednesday in connection with an armed robbery at a casino in Hilvarenbeek on August 24th. At around 9:30 p.m. on August 24th, an armed robber came into the casino on Paardenstraat and threatened a staff member and a number of visitors with a firearm. He demanded that money be placed into a plastic bag and then took off with the bag in the direction of the Vrijthof. The robbery was captured on surveillance camera, with a very clear shot of the robber. These images were shared with the public in an episode of Bureau Brabant on Monday evening. Following the broadcast the police received a number of tips regarding the robber's identity. This led to his arrest at his home in Eindhoven on Monday. The man is in custody.
