Paper fines and tickets go digital

The police are systematically digitizing the issuing of traffic fines. By mid 2016, the paper fine will be completely phased out, the police announced on Monday. Officers noticing a traffic offense will no longer issue a printed ticket to the perpetrator, but instead a digital ticket. With a parking violation, a standard label will be affixed to the vehicle, instead of the current hand written ticket. The registered owner of the vehicle in question will receive the "notice of decision" at home approximately 6 days after the offense. This notice will describe the nature of the offense and the fine. With this new digitized system, the police hope to make the administrative process of issuing fines faster and easier on the streets.
