Dutch may owe another €200 million in unpaid EU taxes

The cabinet has set another 200 million euros aside for an European additional tax, according to a letter sent to the Tweede Kamer, lower house of parliament. This was done after Statistics Netherlands' new calculations on the gross national income for 2013 and the first figures for 2014, NU reports. The gross national income for 2013 was 4 percent higher than the initial figure published in 2014. A similar situation occurred in April when the figures for 2011 and 2012 also turned out to be higher. The government then also reserved 200 million euros for additional tax. The exact amount that will actually be paid to Brussels will only become clear after the economic figures for other Member States are announced in the autumn. This is the third additional EU tax in a year. Last year Minister Jeroen Dijsselbloem paid 642 million euros to Brussels.
