Judge acquits man who tried to sell his kidney

A 40 year old Dutch man who put one of his kidneys up for sale on Marktplaas, will not be punished. The court in Utrecht acquitted him on Friday. Marc H. asked 50 thousand euros for his kidney on Marktplaas. In his own words, he did so because he was curios to see if anyone would buy it, NOS reports. Unfortunately for Marc, the only the police responded to his ad. The sale of organs is illegal in the Netherlands. The Public Prosecutor in Utrecht demanded 60 hours of community service against H., stating that he wanted to make a profit by selling his organ. The judge ruled that as no one offered to buy the kidney, there is no evidence that H. wanted to make a profit.
