Prime Minister leads delegation to China next week
Prime Minister Mark Rutte is visiting China from March 24th to 29th accompanied by the Infrastructure and Environment Minister Wilma Mansveld from March 23rd to 27th. The two will lead a Dutch business community delegation consisting of seventy Dutch company representatives.
Prime Minister Rutte is participating in the Boao Forum Asia, an annual conference for politicians and representatives of the business community, academia and the media. Afterwards he is scheduled to meet with the Chinese President Xi Jinping to further strengthen political and economical ties between China and the Netherlands.
Minister Mansveld will start her visit in Beijing by speaking about air quality and soil and waste issues with the Chinese Prime Minister Chen Jining. Afterwards both parties are expected to sign an agreement in which the Netherlands agrees to help China with improving its air quality. Environment Minister will also open a climate symposium and sign an agreement about exchanging knowledge on sustainable urban planning and land use with the Chinese Environment Minister Jiang Daming.
The delegation is meant to deepen the existing relationships with Chinese companies over the course of company meetings, business dinners and entrepreneur matchmaking.
