Busy first income filing day causes tax website troubles

The tax authority's website had a busy day yesterday on the first day that people could file their tax returns. At 16:00 yesterday afternoon, 307 thousand people have logged into the site and 102 thousand people had completed and submitted their tax returns. The website displayed the message to try and log in again later a total of 166 thousand times because the site was too busy. Most of these messages were for people who tried to log in several times in succession. Yesterday was the first time that everyone could file their tax returns online.
