Natural gas prices need to rise: Green party

GroenLinks thinks that the gas price should increase, RTL Nieuws reports. According to the party, that is the only way to compensate for the cost of reducing the gas production. GroenLinks supports the residents of Groningen and wants the gas production in Groningen to be decreased by a quarter. But this also mean a decrease in revenue. According to the party's plan, people who live in small houses and do not use a lot of gas, will not pay more. But those who do use a lot of gas will feel it in their wallets, RTL Nieuws reports. The party also thinks that NAM's profits can stand to decrease. The Tweede Kamer (lower house of parliament) will discuss the gas extraction in Groningen with Minister Henk Kamp next week.
