Orthodox Jewish school reopens

The Orthodox Jewish school Cheider in Amsterdam will reopen today. The chairman of the school board, Herman Loonstein, made this announcement on Sunday. According to Loonstein, additional security measures have been taken, though he would not specify what these measures are. Cheider remained closed on Friday, following similar decisions made by the Jewish schools in Antwerp and Brussels. The closure was a reaction to the anti-terrorist action in Verviers on Thursday, in which two jihadists were slain. According to Eshter Voet, director of the Center for Information and Documentation Israel, Jewish people feel vulnerable after the attack on the Jewish supermarket in Paris.
