Chinese demand better police protection in Curacao

The Chinese Consul General in Curacao has called on the police to do all in their power to stop the violent robberies. This follows the death of a 30 year old Chinese supermarket owner, who was the victim of a robbery on Sunday. In the past two weeks the Chinese community has bee victim of five very violent robberies. In these robberies the victims, which includes children, are shot at, beaten threatened or tied up. Consul General Chen Qiman has asked the minister of Justice to do more to catch the perpetrators. Chinese people on Curacao are relatively often the victims of sometimes deadly violence by armed robbers. Many small supermarkets are owned by Chinese people.
