Couple returns home after crane crushes marriage proposal

The couple from IJsselstein who became famous through a disastrous marriage proposal, returned home from Paris on Sunday. On Saturday, the crane hired by the man crashed through the neighbors' roof. Despite the havoc caused by the incident, the couple left for Paris. There they regretted it and decided to return to IJsselstein. "We want to let the residents of the affected home know that we sympathize with them and never wanted this", the engaged Michiel and Bianca said in a statement. Michiel had rented the crane to propose to Bianca in a surprising way. The proposal went wrong when the crane tipped over and landed on the neighbors' roof. Three people were present in the house, but no one was injured. Even Michiel himself managed to escape unscathed. A few hours later, when a second crane came to remove the first one, it fell down again, enlarging the hole in the roof. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gsyicdQHSiE This bizarre incident received worldwide attention. The couple has refused all offers for interviews and photos. "We will not stand in the spotlight while our neighbors suffer. We want to now focus on the repairs and living pleasure in the neighborhood. Hopefully we get understanding." Further investigation into the state of the affected property and the two houses next to it will continue today. Until the damage to the properties have been established, the residents cannot return home.
