3,000K coke shipment in R'dam harbor

Police in Rotterdam discovered 3,000 kilograms of cocaine at the harbor on Friday.

The drugs were found in a shipment of cassava from Costa Rica. The cocaine was wrapped in 3003 packages. Police say the contraband has meanwhile been destroyed.

It is the second largest shipment of cocaine ever to be caught in the Rotterdam harbor. In 2005 authorities found 4,200 kilograms of coke hidden in large coils. It is not clear where that shipment had come from.

Authorities are investigating the shipment.
