Fire breaks out at Tata Steel factory

A fire raged on the grounds of Tata Steel in Velsen-Noord for a short while on Tuesday morning. The roof of one of the buildings on the grounds of the steel mill was ablaze. The building in question is a Pellet factory, where fine iron ore is pre-baked into marble shaped pellets. According to the company, the company fire brigade and the fire brigade of Kennemerland region extinguished the fire. No one was injured. The fire was first reported a little after 07:15 am. One hour later, the fire was extinguished. According to Tata, the incident had no impact on the production process.
