Cabinet to discuss radical Islam Friday

On Friday, the Cabinet will discuss further measures to be taken in the mission to diffuse radicalization among youths in The Netherlands. The aim is to prevent youths choosing the side of radical Islam, Het Parool reports. Within this scheme, Ministers will discuss better ways in which to capture those who want to travel to areas such as Syria and Iraq to take part in the armed terrorist struggle. Minister Lodewijk Asscher of Social Affairs announced earlier this week that the Cabinet is already working on measures to keep Imams wishing to breed hate out of the EU by denying visas. The passports of Jihad fighters with a double nationality may also be seized. A wider effort within the muslim community in The Netherlands will require the help of key figures in these communities to preach a message of tolerance and peace. Ministers Lodewijk Asscher and Ivo Opstelten (Security and Justice) may come with a statement at the closing of the Ministers' Council later today.
