Bakker Bart sued by over 50 franchise owners

The class action lawsuit brought by franchisees against Bakker Bart headquarters continued in a court in Arnhem, where the popular sandwich chain is facing accusations of excessive greed by more then 50 of the 183 franchisees. The two parties have been diametrically opposed for a number of years over franchisee rights. Franchisees have made complaints over rental conditions and the level of financial contributions that is paid to headquarters and parent company Bart’s Retail. "Due to the [invented] rental system of the parent company Bart's Retail, the franchisees are going broke," the franchisees said. On Wednesday, the court will begin hearing submissions for the first subpoenas issued.
