Local pols against coastal windfarms

The CDA in North Holland has made it known that they are against wind farms off the coast by signing a call from CDA-factions in several coastal areas against any parks close to the coastline. Minister Henk Kamp (VVD, Economic Affairs) and Minister Melanie Schultz van Haegen (VVD, Infrastructure and Environment) announced a reconnaissance from within the Realm towards the realization of wind farms within the 12-mile zone. This led to a lot of worry at several coastal municipalities. The Cabinet will make a decision on this issue in the near future. The CDA factions are choosing this time to call on municipalities such as Bloemendaal, Haarlem, Heemstede and Zandvoort not to choose for wind farms. "Stewardship is a core value for the CDA. we, as a society, have to switch over to other forms of energy generation and energy use. At the same time, we are attached to the free sight of the sea from the boulevard. We are sticking to a solution that is also efficient in implementation: wind turbines fine, but then such that the free sight onto the sea is not 'polluted'. That may be more expensive, but it is then an investment in quality", the CDA factions state in their collective call.
