Man held in pregnant girlfriend's death

A psychotherapist in Groningen has been arrested in connection with the death of his girlfriend.

The 39-year-old pregnant woman's body was found on Monday in her house. Her unborn child was dead as well. Police at first thought the woman had died of natural causes, but upon further investigation learned that she had been killed. Authorities have not yet said what role her boyfriend had supposedly had in her death. Apparently the 41-year-old man, who aside from psychotherapy also practiced health psychology, had been living somewhere else with his son at the time of his pregnant girlfriend's death. Neighbors have reacted with shock to the tragedy, saying there had not been signs that the couple were having problems. The woman was also a psychologist.
