Comic strip museum to stay open

The Dutch Comic Museum in Groningen will stay open in its current location. With the help of the municipality and local entrepreneurs, the museum will be able to bridge over the three years until the planned relocation to the Grote Markt, where the culture house Groninger Forum will be built. There was some worry about the potential closing of the museum's doors because the contract that it has with the current company ran out in May. The enterprise did not want to keep the doors open for losses. That closure is now off the table. The museum, which opened in 2004, will get less room for a permanent exhibition in the Groninger Forum than it has now.
